An experimental video shot in Super 8, which is divided into four parts based on sound.
Artist Statement:
Maple Woods was filmed during an artist residency program at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhegan, Maine. The footage used was the result of my first attempts at shooting in Super 8. Since I was out in the woods for nine weeks I decided to shoot the outside surroundings around my studio. After the residency I developed the structure of the video based on audio. The soundtrack is made up of found sounds as well as music that I played and recorded, and voiceovers, which I wrote the text for based on a semi-autobiographical narrative mixed with a fictional story.
